We have received some messages this week about some of you having some trouble accessing multiplayer in Xbox.

A lot of network issues on console can be caused by moderate/strict NAT type, there is a lot of info online about changing your network settings to get the best-performing ‘open’ type, such as this.

Please try the below, and if you are still having issues please let us know!

Q: Hey, how do I get a game going?
A: Starting a multiplayer game on console is a little different to on Steam, we have been getting messages from some of you saying you are unable to start the game, please try the below:

Starting a Private Game
Select PRIVATE from the main menu, and on the next screen, use ‘invite friends’ to have at least one human join you, recruit some AI to fill the remaining slots, and have everyone hit ‘ready’ at the bottom of the list to go!

Starting a Public Game

To find players beyond your friends list, select PUBLIC, invite anyone you’re bringing with you, and select ‘Find game’ to be randomly matched with challengers from the internet.

Our upcoming update should resolve difficulties starting multiplayer games.

Q: I keep getting disconnected from the game and cannot reconnect, are you going to fix that?
A: At this stage, Armello on consoles doesn’t have a reconnect feature which we are working on bringing to your platform.

If your connection is unstable, unfortunately, you will be removed from the game and replaced with AI to keep the game going, and to prevent other players waiting on you. Our incoming update has more advanced handling of timeouts and network changes, and includes the ability to drop out of a game and reconnect later.

Q: I’ve tried the above, but still can’t access multiplayer, help?
A: Have you checked the Xbox Live status? You can find it here:  https://support.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-live-status 

Q: Why when I search for people to play on Multiplayer, I’m not finding any players?
A: Currently the multiplayer pool for public games is predominantly in the American timezone (where most of our player base is!) and is constrained to only your platform. There will be ebbs and flows of player queues. 

If you believe you should be finding players, the Multiplayer queue should re-set you into a new server after 5+ minutes. Otherwise please check your NAT and internet connection and try again.

Q: My friend doesn’t have the same console as me, can they join me?
A: To be clear, at the moment we only support console multiplayer between players on the same platform, so if your friends are on xbox and you’re on playstation, they can’t join you.

Q: Will the Dragon Clan be coming to Xbox?
A: YES! In our next update!
